myHEALTH WATCHER launches a food alert service on the occasion of World Food Day
Users of the nutrition and health app will receive relevant notifications and will be able to consult experts
Next Wednesday, October 16, is the World Food Day. Coinciding with this date, the myHEALTH WATCHER app launches a new food alerts service. Users of this application, who are currently using it to find out which products best suit their health profile, will receive notifications every time there is a relevant notice due to its health impact.
The Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed Products (RASFF) is the European Union's tool for sharing this information. So far from 2019 the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AECOSAN) has already launched a twenty food alerts of general interest, to which must be added those of allergens and food supplements.
For example, in recent days there have been food alerts for the recall of certain batches of raw cow's milk cheese from France and various updates related to the outbreak of listeriosis caused by meat products.
These cases should be the subject of public information on the possible arrival of food in poor condition to the final consumer and from now on, myHEALTH WATCHER will collaborate in that work. The objective is that the public is well informed and can act accordingly, without creating unnecessary alarms, avoiding hoaxes and leaving aside fashions and trends without scientific endorsement. To offer you even more and better information, myHEALTH WATCHER also inaugurates a new communication channel via email email@example.com, in which any person can report a detected anomaly or resolve their doubts about this matter. It is also an open channel to food manufacturers or distributors
World Food Day
Proclaimed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 1979, World Food Day is celebrated on October 16 of each year. The aim is to make the population aware of the hunger and malnutrition that many countries continue to suffer and of the need to guarantee food security and healthy eating throughout the world. In 2019 the #World Food Day activities will be held in more than 150 countries with the motto 'Our actions sound our future'.
myHEALTH WATCHER is an app that puts technology at the service of health that allows consumers to know if a packaged product is beneficial to them, or not, just by scanning your barcode. This information is personalized, since each user can create your profile and that of your relatives with a simple health test. Thus, foods are classified in red, yellow and green according to their suitability for each member of the family. In addition, from the same app the user can monitor your physical activity daily. The quality of the information and personalization are the hallmarks of myHEALTH WATCHER, which brings together in a single application all the tools so that citizens can improve their lifestyle and well-being.
